Biscuit Belly brought home First Place for Best Non-Traditional Gravy in the world at the Gravy Cup.
Yes. The world.
The Gravy Cup is the largest biscuits and gravy competition out there, and this year we walked away with the top honor in the non-traditional category. We are still riding that gravy-high.
The Gravy Cup – More Than Just Gravy
The Gravy Cup isn’t just a competition packed with insanely talented chefs and next-level gravy creativity. It’s an event rooted in purpose.
We have loved watching this competition grow year after year, and this year was truly record-shattering. With over 1,500 attendees, a brand-new venue, and more chefs and vendors than ever before, the energy in the room was unmatched.
And the best part, every spoonful served supported an incredible cause!
The Gravy Cup raises funds for Boys and Girls Haven, a Kentucky-based foster care center serving more than 500 children and families each year. This is their largest fundraiser, and every contribution from the event goes directly toward supporting their mission.
The Gravy That Won It All
Our first-place champion?
🧀 Gouda Mornay “Hot Brown in a Cup”
We took our creamy, dreamy Gouda Mornay gravy — the same one that lives on our Hot Brown — and leveled it up for the competition.
Our chef folded in tender, chef’s-kiss bits of turkey directly into the gravy. Then we spooned it over a fluffy biscuit and topped it with crumbled bacon.
It was rich. It was bold. It was comfort in a cup.
A Louisville classic… reimagined the Biscuit Belly way.
And Let’s Not Forget the Fan Favorite

🍄 Vegetarian Mushroom Gravy
Earthy. Savory. Packed with flavor.
We see it every time, someone hesitates at the word “mushroom” … and then takes one bite and becomes a full-on believer. We’ve converted plenty of skeptics over the years, and the Gravy Cup was no exception.
Why This One Meant So Much
Winning Best Non-Traditional Gravy in the world is exciting. Serving over 1,500 people is energizing.
But being part of an event that pours back into children and families across Kentucky? That’s the real heart of it.
The Gravy Cup is more than biscuits and bragging rights. It’s growth. It’s generosity. It’s community coming together around really good food for an even better reason.
