This FAQ provides additional background for media covering Biscuit Belly’s acquisition of Maple Street Biscuit Company. If you have any additional questions or would like to request an interview, please contact pr@biscuitbelly.com

  • What is Biscuit Belly announcing?
    • Biscuit Belly is acquiring 35 Maple Street Biscuit Company locations as part of a focused growth strategy. Over the next two years, those restaurants will transition to the Biscuit Belly brand, more than tripling our footprint and accelerating our long-term goal of becoming the largest gourmet biscuit brand in the U.S.
  • Why did Biscuit Belly pursue this acquisition?
    • As we’ve grown, two of the biggest challenges we’ve faced are finding and building the right restaurant locations and finding great teams to operate them. When we looked at Maple Street’s geography, restaurant footprints and established store-level teams, we saw a unique opportunity to grow intentionally in communities that align with our long-term strategy.
  • What does this mean for MSBC guests and restaurant employees?
    • Our priority is continuity. We intend to keep the acquired restaurants open and invest in the existing teams who already know their guests and communities.
    • For our employees, our focus is on providing additional training, leadership support and opportunities to grow.
    • For guests, the restaurants will transition over time. They’ll eventually see Biscuit Belly’s signature menu, colorful interiors and hospitality experience.
  • What does this mean for Biscuit Belly’s existing restaurants and team members?
    • This growth creates more opportunity across the Biscuit Belly system. As our footprint expands, so do opportunities for career growth, leadership development and collaboration across a larger network of restaurants.
    • For our existing guests, our focus remains the same: delivering damn good biscuits and genuine hospitality. We’re growing the brand, not changing what made people fall in love with Biscuit Belly in the first place.
  • Is Biscuit Belly acquiring the entire company?
    • Biscuit Belly is acquiring 35 select Maple Street Biscuit Company restaurant locations from Cracker Barrel.
  • Will any Maple Street Biscuit Company locations close as a result of the acquisition?
    • Purchased stores acquired by Biscuit Belly are not planned to close. For questions about any closures prior to the acquisition date of 7/20, please contact media.relations@crackerbarrel.com.
  • Why were the 35 particular locations selected?
    • The locations were selected intentionally based on their geography, established teams, and communities they serve. Many are in markets we’ve had our eye on or see an opportunity to deepen Biscuit Belly’s presence.
  • Will Biscuit Belly be acquiring any other brands in the near future?
    • Our immediate focus is on successfully integrating these restaurants and supporting the teams and communities joining Biscuit Belly. We always evaluate opportunities that align with our long-term strategy, but we don’t have any additional growth plans to announce at this time.
  • Were the financial terms of the transaction disclosed?
    • The financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
  • Is Biscuit Belly still franchising?
    • Franchising remains an important part of Biscuit Belly’s long-term growth strategy. This acquisition complements our existing growth pipeline and gives us another path for intentional expansion.
  • What is the timeline for the transition?
    • We’ll be transitioning the new restaurants to Biscuit Belly locations over 18 to 24 months. Initial conversions will begin in January 2027.
  • What excites Biscuit Belly’s team most about this acquisition?
    • The people and potential. We’re welcoming established restaurant teams who already know their guests and communities, and we’re bringing them into a family-owned brand that’s still incredibly passionate about the little things that make breakfast special.
